Political analyst Alexei Makarkin writes In the telegram channel of the Igor Bunin Political Technology Center:
“ Alla Pugacheva urged to include herself in the list of foreign agents . What will be a public reaction? It seems that the dual, associated with the dual function of pop artists in Soviet society (and Alla Pugacheva is one of the main symbols of the late USSR).
On the one hand, the Soviet government suffered a slight genre, because people needed entertainment, and not just classics and ideologically correct songs. < ... > And Alla Pugacheva with her bright talent and absolute recognition (unlike secondary pop imitations) was and still remains one of the main favorites of people who remember the USSR.
On the other hand, the light genre was tolerate, and not encouraged. Variety artists, along with their antipodes - representatives of the clergy of different faiths - were recognized, if not harmful, then at least "incompetent" for the construction of a bright future (where, as it was meant, there will be a place only for high art and scientific picture of the world). < ... >
Accordingly, the artists were not only the favorites of the public, but also the objects of criticism - both in the official press (from Pravda to the Crocodile), and by "throwing" information about super -capacity - legal and even more illegal. And then the rumors spread themselves through the mouth with all the new details. Thus, the artists acted as "lightning rods", distracting from similar criticism in relation to the nomenclature. And the same Soviet people who yesterday listened with pleasure for another hit, tomorrow enviously retold each other stories about how singers and singers undeservedly richly live. The same envy has been preserved today, despite the fact that the USSR has long been gone. Moreover, the secular chronicle makes it possible for gossip already without any " stuffing" .
And both of these factors must be taken into account in order to understand both the public significance of Alla Pugacheva’s statement and limiters for its perception by the population . ”
