The “referendum” on the entry of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) into Russia will be held on September 23–27. this with reference to local publications. reports RIA Novosti
Earlier today, the law on holding a “referendum” in the LPR was unanimously adopted by deputies of the People’s Council of the Republic, the agency reported the words of State Duma deputy Viktor Vodolatsky.
Following the LPR, the decision to hold a “referendum” on the same dates was made by the authorities of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). The head of the region, Denis Pushilin, published an appeal to Vladimir Putin in his Telegram channel with a request to accept the DPR into Russia after the vote.
“The long-suffering people of Donbass deserved to be part of the Great Country, which they always considered their Motherland. This event will be the restoration of historical justice, the onset of which millions of Russian people yearn for,” Pushilin wrote.
In addition, spoke Vladimir Rogov, a member of the main council of the Russian-appointed “administration of the Zaporozhye region,” about plans to annex Ukrainian territories to Russia. According to him, a “referendum” in the region “could take place in the coming days.”
