Navalny's lawyers were prohibited from bringing any documents to meetings in the colony

Alexey Navalny reported that the administration of the Vladimir maximum security penal colony No. 6, where he is currently being held, prohibited his lawyers from bringing any documents to meetings.

“At the entrance to the colony, they took away all the papers that he was carrying from my lawyer, saying that now the administration of the colony will decide what is relevant to the criminal case and what is not. Accordingly, what can be read to me and what cannot,” Navalny said on Twitter.

The politician suggested that the next time he would be brought to a meeting with a lawyer “tied with his mouth taped shut.”

A week earlier, Navalny’s prison window was covered with tape through which he read documents from his lawyers. The oppositionist also said that the administration of IK-6 decided to check all documents that he exchanges with lawyers, thereby depriving them of the right to attorney-client privilege. In the Vladimir colony, Navalny was sent to a punishment cell several times and was recognized as a “malicious offender.”
