An anti-war action in the center of Moscow was announced today by the Vesna movement. By 7 p.m., dissenters with partial mobilization began to gather on Stary Arbat and went towards the Foreign Ministry building.
At some point, people tried to form a chain at the beginning of the Arbat, but the police did not let them do this and began to take the protesters into paddy wagons, shouting “shame”, “no war” and “life to our children”.
Rallies were also held in other cities of Russia. According to OVD-Info, 1,371 people were detained throughout the country.
Telegram channels circulate videos of harsh detentions and overcrowded paddy wagons. In them, the police drag even people who have lost consciousness. There are also reports that some detainees are being taken away by law enforcers' phones.
