In St. Petersburg, a rally is held in support of referenda

In St. Petersburg, the Peter and Paul Fortress takes place a rally in support of referenda in Ukrainian territories occupied by Russia. The appearance of this action from municipalities was previously demanded to ensure the district administrations of the city.

"Rotonda" reports that before the start of the action from the stage, the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg Konstantin Chebykin spoke. He told those present that they gathered here "to support Putin"

The rally participants are guarded by law enforcement officers. SOTA journalist Peter Ivanov was kicked out of the action, after which, presumably, employees of the E -E Center with threats to send the correspondent "shoot in the forefront of the RF Armed Forces" approached him. Before this happened, the journalist managed to shoot a video of the alleged “briefing” for the students present at the rally. They were asked not to mention remuneration if they received it for participating in this action. “If they promised something to someone, they gave something, we forget about it. The word“ money ”does not sound here, we are patriots, we came to support their homeland,” they told young people.

According to the calculations of "Papers", about a thousand people gathered at the fortress. Many of them came with Russian flags and St. George ribbons with a hashtag "we are not throwing their own."

• On September 20, the heads of self-proclaimed LPR and the DPR, as well as the administration of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions occupied by Russia, announced on September 23-27 referendums on the entry of the captured regions of Ukraine into the Russian Federation.
• All the territories on which the referendum has been announced, the vast majority of the countries of the world consider the sovereign territory of Ukraine, and Russia still officially considers such a Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions. The authorities of Ukraine, as well as representatives of the United States and Western countries have repeatedly stated that they did not recognize any referendums in these territories legitimate. The Council of Europe in a recent statement emphasized that any referendums in the occupied territories cannot be recognized as legitimate on the same grounds on which the legitimacy of the annexation of Crimea in 2014 was not recognized. The UN Charter prohibits violation of the territorial inviolability of countries, that is, the annexation of territories.
• On the morning of September 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced mobilization "in connection with the situation in Ukraine." The authorities call it partial, however, the criteria in the presidential decree are very vague and essentially allow us to call on any citizen who is in reserve.
