Earlier, the Federation Council approved a law on imprisonment for up to 10 years for voluntary surrender and failure to appear for conscription service. The last point concerns conscripts and contractors who, without good reason, did not appear at the service for more than a month. It does not apply to those who are currently receiving subpoenas.
Also now faces up to 15 years for looting. Such concepts as “mobilization”, “martial law” and “wartime” appeared in the criminal code.
On Tuesday, the State Duma unanimously approved these amendments immediately in the second and third readings.
According to the new laws, for unauthorized abandonment of a unit during mobilization and martial law for a period of 2 to 10 days, up to 5 years in prison threatens, for a period of 10 days to a month - 7 years, and if more than a month, then from 5 to 10 years prisons.
Refusal to participate in military or combat operations, as well as “non-fulfillment by subordinates of the order of the chief”, is punishable by a prison term of 2 to 3 years.
At the same time, in the article of the Criminal Code on aggravating circumstances, a clause appeared about the crime committed "during the period of mobilization or martial law, in wartime or in conditions of armed conflict or combat operations."
