Women in black and men with agendas: results of the September 24 actions against mobilization

The Ministry of Defense claims that it is going to call up up to 300 thousand people, but the paragraph of the decree on mobilization dedicated to the number is classified. "New Newspaper. Europe” wrote that up to a million people could be mobilized. There are reports from different regions that not only reserve military personnel are being taken to training grounds; there are also reports of widespread recruitment into the army in some small settlements. They take away the elderly, people without experience, and people with children.

Meanwhile, men are fleeing the country to avoid the war. Prices for flights from Russia have increased exponentially, and there are many kilometers of traffic jams at checkpoints at land borders. Against this background, politicians in some European countries neighboring Russia say that they will not accept draft dodgers and call on Russians to “fight Putin.”

Russians continue to protest. As of 01:00 on September 25, at least 783 people were detained in 33 cities. The police are acting rudely, today, among other things, they specifically detained women wearing black clothes - the Feminist anti-war resistance called on participants to go to the protests in these colors.

Moscow

There are at least 396 detainees in the city. The police took one of the detainees into an empty paddy wagon, after which she began screaming - what happened is unknown. Another woman had her finger injured during arrest. People were transported in overcrowded paddy wagons; in some police stations, their phones and/or passports were taken away, or they were required to turn off their phones. The police seized, among other things, couriers delivering orders in the center of the capital. There are minors detained. At the Basmanny District police station, detainees had their military identification cards photographed; in at least six police departments, men were given summonses to appear at the military registration and enlistment office.

Saint Petersburg

At least 132 detainees. The day before, activists, human rights defenders and journalists were searched in connection with a false report of a terrorist attack; ten people were detained as part of a criminal case. The police dispersed the protest using batons and stun guns. People were transported in overcrowded paddy wagons; many were detained as minors. Some had their passports taken away.
