"If You Want to Take Over All of Europe, Go to ***." Former Pink Floyd Frontman Roger Waters Writes Open Letter to Putin

Musician, co-founder and former frontman of Pink Floyd Roger Waters has written an open letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin. It was published on Waters' Facebook page.

I am increasingly being asked to write to you too, so here goes. First, would you like the war to end? If you answered, “Yes, please,” that would immediately make things a lot easier. If you said, “The Russian Federation has no further territorial interests than the security of the Russian-speaking populations of Crimea, Donetsk and Lugansk,” that would also help. I know some people who think you want to take over all of Europe, starting with Poland and the rest of the Baltics . If that is the case, go to hell, and we could all stop playing the desperately dangerous nuclear game that hawks on both sides of the Atlantic seem so comfortable playing.

Waters added that if a peace deal is reached with Ukraine, Russia must promise not to invade again. "I know the US and NATO invade other sovereign countries at the drop of a hat or for a few barrels of oil, but that doesn't mean you should, your invasion of Ukraine took me by surprise, it's a vile war of aggression, provoked or not," Waters added.

The musician previously stated that he considers US President Joe Biden a "war criminal" because he is "starting a fire in Ukraine." Waters also wrote two open letters to Ukraine's first lady, Olena Zelenska, in September. He reminded her that Volodymyr Zelensky came to power promising to end the war in Donbass, and urged her to force her husband to "do the right thing" and negotiate with Russia.

Olena Zelenskaya responded to the musician on Twitter: "It was Russia that attacked Ukraine, destroying cities and killing people. Ukrainians are defending their country and the future of their children. If we give up the fight, tomorrow we will be gone. If Russia gives up the war, the war will end. You should ask the president of another country for peace."
