At the Upper Lars customs checkpoint on the Russian-Georgian border, Russian citizens were allowed to cross the border on foot due to major traffic jams. This was reported by Baza and the Tbilisi_life Telegram channel.

"First of all, the passage is open to women and children. A new queue of those who want to cross the border without a vehicle is formed at the checkpoint. The travel time / passage of both borders by transport is 4-5 days," blogger Nikolai Levshits reported on Telegram.

At the same time, RBK, citing the press service of the FSB Border Department for North Ossetia, writes that Russians have been allowed to cross the border not on foot, but on scooters or bicycles.

"On foot - this means on scooters, bicycles, etc. We have an international automobile checkpoint, in fact, they must have a vehicle. People must comply with the type of checkpoint. That is, in fact, they leave on bicycles, mopeds, scooters, scooters, etc.," the press service said, adding that if a person does not have another vehicle, then he passes the checkpoint by car.

According to TASS, about three and a half thousand passenger cars have accumulated at the border.
