The governor announced a “detonation of ammunition” in the Belgorod region. 14 people were injured

A “detonation of ammunition” occurred in the Valuysky urban district, the governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov said in his telegram channel.

According to the official, as a result 14 people received injuries of varying severity. The cause of the detonation was the "human factor," he added.

“All necessary medical care is being provided. Operational services are on site and are investigating what happened, ”Gladkov wrote.

The Telegram channel Mash claims that the cause of the explosion in the Belgorod village was a spontaneous shot of a grenade launcher during the exercises. According to the channel, 11 civilians and two military men were taken to the hospital - six with moderate injuries.

This is not the first such incident that has recently occurred in the Belgorod region: on August 18, an ammunition depot caught fire near the village of Timonovo, and on August 23, in the same area, "as a result of hot weather, spontaneous combustion of ammunition occurred." According to the governor, in both cases no one was hurt.
