The FSB opened the case of international terrorism due to damage to the "northern stream"

The Investigative Department of the FSB of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case due to damage to the Russian gas pipelines “Northern Stream-1” and “Northern Stream-2”.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the investigation is carried out under part 1 of Article 361 of the Criminal Code (“Act of International Terrorism”, punishable by imprisonment from 10 to 20 years or lifelong).

The department noted that as a result of "intentional actions to damage the gas pipelines of the Russian Federation, significant economic damage was caused."

• Drenches on three threads of the North Stream - 1 and North Stream 2 gas pipelines near the island of Bournholm in the Baltic Sea occurred on the night of September 26. The EU authorities said that the North Stream was deliberately damaged. The investigation of incidents took up Germany, Denmark and Sweden. Law enforcement agencies suspect that it was a sabotage using divers or submarines. German security services suggest that the pipeline will be unsuitable forever.
