Businessman Elon Musk suggested to Twitter to resume the deal to buy the company. It is reported by Bloomberg.
Musk reiterated his offer to buy the social network in a letter to Twitter executives, sources familiar with the matter told the agency. The entrepreneur offered to buy the company at the original price of $54.2 per share.
The businessman and the company have not yet commented on this information.
Updated. The Securities and Exchange Commission confirmed Bloomberg's report. In a comment to the agency, a Twitter spokesman said the company had received Musk's letter and intended to close the deal.
According to Reuters, the news about the resumption of the deal appeared before the court session, where they should begin consideration of the Twitter lawsuit against Musk, in which the company demands to oblige the businessman to complete its purchase. It is scheduled for October 17th.
On the back of news about a possible resumption of the deal, the value of Twitter's shares rose by 12%, the agency reports.
