The head of the Council for Human Rights under the President of the Russian Federation Valery Fadeev commented on the decision to award the Nobel Prize of the World of 2022 by the Belarusian human rights activist Ales Belyatsky, who was liquidated by the court of the Russian Center "Memorial" and the Ukrainian "" Civil Freedom Center ". He criticized the “Civil Freedom Center”: “Where this organization was in the previous eight years, when they bombed Donbass, when thousands of peaceful citizens, children, old people were killed.”

Regarding the award of the Beletskiy Prize, the head of the HRC said the following: “You can have all kinds of claims against the authorities, but then the task of destroying Belarusian statehood was then. When the state is destroyed, there is no need to talk about any rights and freedoms. ”

In addition, Fadeev believes that the Memorial should abandon the Nobel Prize: “I would like to advise the Russian” memorial “to abandon this award in order to maintain at least particles of good memory”.

The Civil Freedoms Center was founded in Kyiv in 2007 with the aim of promoting human rights and democracy in Ukraine. It is noted that the center actively advocated the accession of Ukraine to the International Criminal Court.
