FSB: over a week more than 100 attacks on the border regions of the Russian Federation from Ukraine were recorded

The Federal Security Service (FSB) of the Russian Federation recorded a “significant increase” in the number of attacks on the border regions of the Russian Federation by Ukraine since the beginning of October. This is reported by TASS with reference to the department.

“Since the beginning of October, the number of attacks on the border territory of the Russian Federation within the Bryansk, Kursk and Belgorod regions has significantly increased. <...> Over the past week, more than 100 attacks on 32 settlements in the Bryansk, Kursk and Belgorod regions were recorded using multiple launch rocket systems, cannon artillery, mortars and unmanned aerial vehicles, ”the FSB said in a statement.

According to the agency, as a result of shelling, one person was killed, five were injured, including a child. Two electrical substations, 11 residential buildings, two administrative buildings and eight checkpoints across the state border were also damaged.

On October 7, an explosion occurred on the territory of the Shaikovka military airfield in the Kaluga region. According to the governor of the region Vladislav Shapshi, a drone fell, which, presumably, flew in from the Ukrainian border.

The day before, the governor of the Kursk region, Roman Starovoit , said that a 72-year-old man died as a result of the shelling of the village of Tetkino. According to preliminary data, Starovoit clarifies, the pensioner died of a heart attack while he was in hiding.
