A year ago, the husband of a children's hematologist Oksana Leontieva died. This week, from the Russian missile strike in Kyiv, she herself died

Since the beginning of the week, the Russian military inflicted the most intense blows to Ukrainian cities from the first days of the war. One of the missiles got into the car of the 36-year-old Oksana Leontyeva, a doctor of bone marrow transplantation department Okhmatdet. The car burned down to the ground, Leontieva died. On the morning of October 10, she brought a five -year -old son to a kindergarten and went to her patients. "Cold" tells her story.

License plate that was found on the road

“This is Oksana Grigoryevna. Stones from the sky fly, and she does her job. To go to work during air anxiety to treat children is in her spirit, ”Julia Maryuk, mother of one of the patients Leontyeva, tells the“ cold ”. Now her daughters are 16 years old: in 2016, she was treated for blood cancer in the Okhmatdet hospital and, after bone marrow transplantation, was observed by Oksana Leontieva. “It happened that we are driving in Kyiv, large traffic jams, and we do not have time by the time when we were appointed a meeting with the doctor. Oksana Grigoryevna then said: “How can you be so late? You reacted so irresponsibly to the visit. No one asks me how I get to work,” Maryuk recalls.

Around 10 a.m. on October 10, the head of the bone marrow transplantation “Okhmatdet” by Alexander Lisitsa was called by Father Leontieva Grigory, to find out if his daughter was at work. “I replied not. She wrote a message that she was late: problems in the kindergarten and air alarm, ” recalls the fox. When Oksana's father found out about explosions in the center of Kyiv, he went to the place where they occurred: his daughter drove along the road along the road on the street on which one of the shells fell. “I asked the policeman if there was a car like Oksana’s car. They showed me a license plate [of Oksana's car], which was found on the road, ” said the father. During the explosions in Kyiv on October 10, eight people died. One of them was Oksana Leontiev.

Hold the whole world

Leontyeva worked for 11 years in the bone marrow transplantation department of the Okhmatdet clinic. “Oksana saved children with blood cancer. This young woman was a real professional and support for her patients and colleagues. She was a selfless and responsible person and a doctor, ”colleagues wrote about her.

Leontyeva came to work at Okhmatdet in 2011, when she graduated from the Alexander Bogomolz National Medical University. “[Then] we were both young, ambitious doctors,” said Alexander Lisitsa. - And side by side went sideways from young interns to doctors with experience. <...> We celebrated our wedding in one year, our children are peers, and at critical moments lived with us in the hospital. ” According to him, after the outbreak of war in Ukraine, they both decided to stay in Kiev and continue to work.

“Oksana Grigoryevna is a fragile woman who in the profession never stopped huge volumes of work, having experience in the treatment of unique clinical cases,” her colleague Anna Brudna wrote about Leontieva. A year ago, Leontieva graduated from the International Bone Marrow Transplantation School, and together with colleagues worked on projects to launch new treatment technologies.

“Oksana was precisely the person who is ready to put the interests of others in need of help above his own,” recalled Lisitsa. He noted that "Oksana's super -crooks were painstaking and meticulous, which is not always enough for another." In the hospital, doctors spent a lot of time with patients and tried to create comfortable conditions for them, the fox said. “Our children flew in a balloon, and even on airplanes. This is the only department in the country where they care about the dreams of small patients, ”he said. Oksana Leontyeva also did this.

“Once at the beginning of the summer, Leontiev called me and asked if I could urgently come to their department, they need my help,” said Olga Bulkina Clureses. “She understood how important it is to continue to live and live emotions through the game and laughter in the hospital walls.” According to her, the help was required by the five -year Makar, who became the donor of stem cells for his father. “Oksana Grigoryevna called a clown to reduce the level of stress in a child. I remember that when it was already over and I left there, she came up to me and asked if I want to hold the whole world in my hands? And I handed me a small planet. It was a donor ball, which is squeezed in her hand during blood donation, ”Bulkina recalled.

In 2016, the daughter of Julia Maryuk Katya was performed for 10 years, she spent her birthday in the hospital. “We left somewhere, come, and in our ward a gift lies on the bed. Oksana Grigoryevna gave us a fantastic book “Endless Stories” about the endurance of children, ”recalls Maryuk. In her free time from work, she said, Leontiev loved to re -read “Alice in Wonderland”. Oksana called one of her patients "Princess Anna-Maria." “In life, she tried to turn serious things as a joke,” says Julia Maryuk.

Hard year

The doctor was strictly treated to parents. “Both mothers and dads washed the floor in the ward, she scolded if the dust remained,” says Julia Maryuk. “She was never late, asked that all the procedures were done before bypass and the child would not sleep during him. I could have scolded us if something is wrong, ”the mother of another patient Irina Kurash tells the“ cold ”. Her daughter was treated by Leontieva in 2017. “Once, the daughter rose sharply at 40. Leontyev was on duty. She decided to remove the subclavian catheter, supposedly the temperature from the fact that he became inflamed. As a mother, I wanted to pull it off until the morning to wait for the attending physician, but she insisted and turned out to be right: the temperature was from the catheter, although we were only recently set, ”says Kurash.

“This year was very difficult for her both in her personal life and at work. She lost her husband, all her plans broke off. She only now began to get out of this state, ” said Alexander Lisitsa. Oksana’s husband died in August last year, he had a blood clot. Leontyeva began to educate her son alone. “When dad died, the boy was taken to a psychologist, because he constantly talked about his father, remembered. Only a month ago, we began to come out with a psychologist so that Grisha began to talk less about his father, ” said Julia Saidova, wife of Oksana Leontya Saidova, in an interview with Ukrainian journalists. According to Oksana's father, she often lingered in the hospital for several hours. Now her son Grisha thinks that mother is at work.
