Putin: mobilization will end in two weeks

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that mobilization in Russia will end within two weeks. From the moment of the declaration of mobilization, 222 thousand people were called up, the head of state said at a press conference in Kazakhstan, where the CIS summit ended.

"222 thousand out of 300 thousand were mobilized in the troops. I think that for about two weeks all mobilization events will be completed," Putin said.

According to him, there were no new offers from the Ministry of Defense on mobilization "is not received and not planned." Putin said that 33 thousand mobilized are in units, 16 thousand people are already carrying out combat missions. The president also said that all the preparations called under partial mobilization should undergo.

“The line of contact in Ukraine is 1.1 thousand kilometers, it is impossible to keep it only contractors,” the head of state said, explaining why mobilization was announced in Russia.

Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov, after Putin’s press conference, said that "Putin’s words about the deadlines of mobilization mean that in two weeks it will end."

Putin also commented on the first cases of the death of mobilized at the front in Ukraine. He said that now 16 thousand mobilized are already at the front. According to Putin, this does not previously contradict these promises that mobilized will study before sending to the front, since the terms of such training are calculated days. Moreover, earlier representatives of the authorities claimed that mobilized would study at least a month.

Putin also said that Russia has no plans to destroy Ukrainian statehood. He explained the annexation of Russia in the south of Ukraine, in particular, by the need to ensure the water supply of Crimea, he did not refer to any referendums. Putin also stated that now there is no need to repetition of massive blows to Ukraine, similar to those that Russia inflicted on October 10 and 11.

Putin to the question whether he regrets something, answered negatively.

“What is happening today is unpleasant, to put it mildly, but we would get all the same a little later - only in the worst conditions for us,” Putin said.

The direct part of NATO troops in the war in Ukraine, according to Putin, can lead to a "global catastrophe."

The president also spoke about the Russians who left the country after the start of mobilization.

"In each case, you need to give a legal, not an emotional assessment," he said.

• On September 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared mobilization of the population in the country to war in Ukraine and signed a corresponding decree . The president called it partial, but in the open part of the decree it is not limited by any parameters. First, it is planned to call for 300 thousand reservists - it is argued that this is one percent of the mobilization potential of Russia. The authorities promised to call only reservists with military experience, however, during the mobilization, numerous mistakes were recorded: they called those who did not serve, and those who had grounds for delay - including medical reasons.

According to him, mobilized training takes place at 80 landfills and in six training centers. After the mobilized "they will be sent to the special operation zone along with the units involved there."
• From the beginning of mobilization in Russia, even before sending to war in Ukraine, at least 17 mobilized were killed . They died for various, including unknown reasons. At least three of them committed suicide.
