In the EU, it is necessary to create a pan-European program for issuing humanitarian visas to Russians who oppose the war. Sergei Lagodinsky, a German deputy of Russian origin, called for this.

“We urgently need EU-wide humanitarian visas! The future of Russia sits in the cold corridors of our migration agencies. Dissidents, journalists, writers - most of them fled their homes to escape the murderous state. Let's help this tiny minority that represents Russia's democratic future," he tweeted.

Recall that Germany has so far repeatedly declared its readiness to consider applications for humanitarian visas and political asylum, both for Russians who are persecuted for their anti-war position, and for Russian citizens fleeing mobilization.

At the same time, Germany, together with other EU countries, is consistently complicating the procedure for obtaining tourist visas for Russians. First, the simplified procedure for issuing Schengen visas to Russians, which had been in effect in recent years, was canceled, which led to an increase in the processing time for applications and a multiple increase in the embassy fee when applying.

And last week, Germany introduced additional requirements for those wishing to obtain a visa at German consulates in Russia. Now, among other things, you must provide foreign insurance and an account statement from a bank operating in the EU.

Since, due to sanctions, it is impossible to pay for foreign insurance with cards of Russian banks, and foreign credit organizations no longer work in Russia, such a tightening made obtaining a German visa almost impossible for most Russians.
