Cherepovets: Winter's human rights activist was transferred from jail under house arrest

The court in Vologda translated human rights activist Grigory Winter from the investigative insulator under house arrest until November 23. This was reported by the OVD-Info with reference to lawyer Sergei Tikhonov.

The criminal case of "fakes" about the Russian army against Winter was opened due to posts about the possible war crimes of Russian troops in Buch. Since the beginning of September, the human rights activist has been in pre -trial detention center No. 2 in the Vologda region. At the end of September 2022, he reported that he was deaf at one ear due to low temperature in his cell in jail.

Article 207.3 On Fakes on the Russian Army was introduced into the Criminal Code on March 4, 2022 - several days after Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Military censorship was actually introduced in the country. Part one of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code implies a penalty of 700 thousand to 1.5 million rubles, or correctional work for a period of up to one year, or forced labor for a period of up to three years, or imprisonment for the same period.

• In March 2021, Winter sentenced to two years the restriction of freedom in the criminal case of "fakes" about coronavirus. The human rights activist was found guilty of the publication of the transfer of prisoners from St. Petersburg to the Vologda region, who had "clear signs of coronavirus infection." Winter was also found guilty of insulting a representative of the authorities. He called the SK employees and the FSB department during the search, which they spent at his house.
• Winter stated that he was tortured in the Cherepovets pre -trial detention center, where he spent a month. According to him, the shift officers tortured him with a stouter shocker and beat him with their feet. In the regional department of the FSIN, this information was denied.
