The court put on the wanted list a Smolensk man who escaped from house arrest after the requested 6 years in prison in the case of anti-war price tags

The Zadneprovsky District Court of Smolensk arrested in absentia and put on the wanted list businessman Vladimir Zavyalov in the case of anti-war price tags due to his escape from house arrest. This is reported by SOTA and SOTAvision .

As the second edition writes with reference to the court decision, if Zavyalov is detained, he will be sent to pre-trial detention center No. 1 in the Smolensk region. Lawyer Vasily Trushkin told SOTA that due to the man’s escape from house arrest, the criminal proceedings were suspended. According to the card on the court website, a hearing was supposed to take place today.

Zavyalov is accused of “fakes” about the army based on political hatred (clause “e”, part 2 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code). The reason for this was that in April the entrepreneur replaced 16 price tags in the Karusel store with the inscriptions “Russia uses transport crematoria”, “The Russian army bombed an art school in Mariupol” and others.

The Smolensk resident was detained on April 5, after which he was sent under house arrest, and on October 12 the prosecutor's office asked to sentence him to six years in prison. Zavyalov admitted that he hung up the price tags, but at the same time denied that he did this out of political hostility. Linguistic experts Danila Mikheev and Dinara Aminova discovered political hatred in the entrepreneur’s act. In August, the Ministry of Justice recognized Mikheev’s incompetence.
