A resident of Dagestan poured gasoline on a fellow villager who was dating his married friend

In Dagestan, a resident of the village of Babayurt was detained, who tried to set fire to a fellow villager and doused her with gasoline. This was reported by the republican department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the department, the 33-year-old man came home to a 28-year-old fellow villager on the evening of October 23, who was dating his married friend, and demanded to end their relationship.

His interlocutor refused, and then the man went to get two bottles of gasoline. When he returned, he spilled one around the room, and the second he poured on her. He tried to set fire to a friend, but the lighter did not work, and he left. The woman called the police.

“I first went to her, I wanted to talk to her normally, to say: “Leave it, [he’s] a family man, don’t do this,” the detainee recounts that evening in a video from the Ministry of Internal Affairs. “She said, 'Yes, I will [continue to date him]. Stop him first.' [Then] I said, 'If you don't want to, there's no way he can leave.'"
