According to the department, he “disclosed information <…> that became known to him in connection with the performance of his official duties” (Part 1 of Article 283 of the Criminal Code).
An employee of the Department of Internal Affairs for the Kuril urban district, which includes Iturup and several other islands in the center of the Great Kuril ridge, was sent to a pre-trial detention center.
The anonymous telegram channel VChK-OGPU, which wrote about the case against the policeman on October 21 without specifying a source, called him “Criminal Investigation Officer Captain,” who in August disclosed data received from the FSB.
