In Russian universities, an official “ideological discipline” may appear in the near future - an analogue of “scientific communism”, which was studied at the universities of the Soviet Union. Meduza writes about this, citing its own sources close to the Kremlin, as well as employees of Russian universities.
According to them, a new discipline is being developed in the bowels of the presidential administration. The main goal of the new subject is formulated as follows: "young people must understand the ideology: where is Russia going and why." In turn, the Presidential Administration sees the main message of the new "ideological discipline" as follows: "the West is decaying, but we have a great future."
The development of a new incarnation of "scientific communism" in the Presidential Administration is being carried out by the closest associates of the deputy head of the department in charge of the domestic political bloc, Sergei Kiriyenko.
It is planned that the new subject will appear in universities in the next academic year. Non-humanitarian students will study it for one year, humanities students for several years, and historians and political scientists for the entire duration of their studies.
According to Meduza, the “ideological course” will be divided into four blocks. Individual curators will oversee the development of specific pedagogical materials for each of them.
So, the main "historical" block will be supervised by the former Minister of Culture and presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky. Mikhail Piotrovsky, head of the Hermitage, could become the curator of the Cultural Code block. The development of the "Russia in the World" block will be supervised by political scientist Sergei Karaganov, and the head of the "Kurchatov Institute" Mikhail Kovalchuk will be the curator of the development of the "Image of the Future" block.
The exact content of the blocks is still unknown, however, according to Meduza, all alleged curators are as loyal as possible to the current Russian government and have repeatedly spoken out in support of the militaristic imperial policy of the Russian authorities.
In addition, according to the publication, the new course will become a tool for the final cleansing of Russian universities from liberal teachers. To do this, it is planned to introduce mandatory certification in a new discipline for 100% of the teaching staff.
