The coordinator of “Young Petersburg” was arrested due to an action with a cardboard governor

The Petrogradsky District Court of St. Petersburg arrested Maxim Leonov, coordinator of the Young Petersburg movement, for eight days under the article on holding a public event without filing a notice (part 2 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). reports SOTA . On Friday, October 21, activists of the movement installed a cardboard figure of the governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov in the Alexander Garden, and on the table in front of it were jars with promises from the governor: for example, “89 new metro stations”, “remove snow”, “preserve the architecture of St. Petersburg” and others. Above the head of the figure was the inscription "Distribution of empty promises."

On October 24, Leonov, his wife Yana and another activist were detained and taken to the police department to draw up protocols under Part 2 of Art. 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses because of this action. After that, Yana Leonova was released from the department, and the activist himself and another detainee were left for the night before the trial.
