The State Duma adopted amendments on the passage of alternative civilian service in the conditions of the announced mobilization.
The adopted bill adds a new article to the current law "On mobilization". According to it, people undergoing alternative service in organizations subordinate to state bodies will be able to be sent to work as civilian personnel in the army.
At the same time, the current civilian personnel of the armed forces will continue to work in the same places.
The same amendments will make it possible to call for military service as part of the announced mobilization of people with an outstanding or unexpunged conviction for a serious crime. Exceptions are those convicted of sexualized violence against children, in cases of terrorism, extremism, treason, and a number of other articles.
Earlier, the authorities stated that the alternative civil service in the conditions of mobilization is not provided, despite the fact that the right to ACS is guaranteed by the Constitution. In turn, employees of the military registration and enlistment offices refused to accept applications for transfer to the ACS from those called up as part of the mobilization announced in Russia.
