A new mass grave was discovered on the territory of the Kharkov region liberated from Russian occupation

In the Borovsky district of the Kharkiv region, a mass grave was found, in which, according to preliminary data, there are at least 17 bodies. This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine.

According to the agency, the bodies of both civilians and servicemen of the Ukrainian army were found in a common grave. So, the investigators exhumed the bodies of at least three fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Residents of the village of Kopanka, near which this burial was discovered, told Ukrainian law enforcement officers that it was organized by the Russian military in April, when this territory was occupied.

According to eyewitnesses, servicemen of the Russian army collected the bodies of the dead from around the area, brought them in two trucks to the place of the future burial, dug a three-meter deep hole with an excavator, dumped the dead into it, and then filled the hole and leveled the place with tanks.

At the same time, as local residents say, the Russian military did not mark the place of burial in any way and forbade residents of nearby settlements to install memorial signs on it.

Local residents were allowed to visit this place only on Easter, then they, despite the prohibitions, marked its borders.

“People found three crosses, and thus marked the perimeter of the grave, removed the weeds,” the National Police said in a statement.

After the liberation of almost the entire territory of the Kharkiv region of Ukraine from Russian occupation, new places of mass graves continue to be found there, both for military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and civilians from among the local residents.

Among the exhumed bodies, corpses with bound hands and signs of torture are regularly found.

The largest of these burials was found in the de-occupied Izyum. It contained over 400 bodies.
