The Government of Estonia decided on early termination of the import of oil products from Russia. The ban will enter into force on December 5 - until the completion of the transition period established by the European Union. It is reported by BNS.
Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu said that from December 5, the transit of Russian oil and oil products to the republic has been completely stopped.
The European Union introduced until February 2023 a gradual transitional period of imposing sanctions on imports and transit of Russian oil products.
The Estonian Foreign Ministry had previously sent a proposal to the European Commission on the urgent and comprehensive application of energy sanctions against Russian gas and oil.
