Searches were carried out in Veliky Novgorod in the case of vandalism due to anti-war inscriptions

In Veliky Novgorod, on October 28, security forces conducted searches at the homes of Georgy Dmitruk and Polina Matveeva. They are witnesses in the case of vandalism (Article 214 of the Criminal Code). This was stated by OVD-Info lawyer Konstantin Markin, who represented their interests during searches and interrogations.

According to investigators, on October 13, unknown persons placed the inscriptions “no graves” and “no war” on buildings on Zavokzalnaya, Kosmonavtov and Lomonosova streets, thereby expressing “obvious disrespect for society” and committing an act of vandalism. During the investigation, “sufficient operational data was obtained” that Dmitruk and Matveeva were involved in the crime.

The police conducted four searches - two at the couple's place of work, as well as in their apartment and their car. They seized the equipment but found nothing relevant to the case. After the searches, Dmitruk and Matveeva were taken to the Veliky Novgorod Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where they were interrogated as witnesses. Then they were released.
