The statement of businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin to the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, in which he asks to verify the governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov for involvement in the creation of an organized criminal community (OPS, Article 210 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation under 20 years of imprisonment) was not too much news: the conflict of Beglov and Prigozhin has long been known. But the very fact of attracting so powerful structures to the “showdown” can be considered a sensation.

On Monday, October 31, 2022, the press service of the Concord group of companies (the main business act of Evgeny Prigozhin) confirmed rumors that Prigozhin sent a statement to the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation with a request to verify the governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov for his possible involvement in the organization of a criminal community created to plunder the state budget and enrich the state budget and enrich the state budget and enrich the state budget The governor's environment of corrupt officials.

The businessman said through his press service:

The final break and the transition to the “hot war” phase falls on the fall of 2021. It was connected with the project of the development of the Gorskaya territory (alluvial territory in the area of ​​the dam). This territory on the banks of the Gulf of Finland, created in the area of ​​protective from flooding of the city of structures, has long attracted the attention of developers. Prigozhin presented the city with a plan for the development of this territory, on which it was planned to build warehouses, hotel complexes, an innovative complex, and elite real estate. And, according to the businessman, during the 2021 economic forum, the Flyov Treaty was signed that it was Prigozhin’s structures that will be engaged in this project. The cost of investment in Gorskaya exceeds 60 billion rubles. But in October 2021, it becomes known that Beglov gave the “mountain” company Megaline.

The rhetoric of Prigozhin after that instantly becomes more sharp. In particular, he directly accuses Beglov of the fact that the city administration "just wipes his legs on local business." Like, Prigozhin invested millions of rubles into the development of the Gorskaya project, and Beglov took a finished project and, spitting on all agreements, transferred it to another company.

The answer followed immediately. On November 10, 2021, the power structures of St. Petersburg came to the social education department, as well as to the offices with which the drummers concluded contracts. All management personnel were dismissed, criminal cases were instituted against several employees (including Barabanshchikov) about causing property damage to the budget.

According to the logic of things, Beglov struck a crushing blow, and Prigozhin had to understand that it was more expensive to swear with the authorities. But in January 2022, Sergey Shnurov’s video “So far” appeared on the Internet, shot on one of St. Petersburg’s garbage: it is shown how in St. Petersburg things are doing with garbage, snow, icicles. The clip actively promoted Prigozhin's mediation structures, but there was no direct evidence that the businessman paid for his creation.

In response, Beglov said:

“The problem is that we began to tear off the masks from semi -criminal structures that have been attached to the city budget for decades. One of the famous businessmen with a bunch of their semi -criminal comrades, who was supposed to protect children in schools, kindergartens, and provide high -quality food, robbed our children. Instead of the construction of new enterprises, our state -owned ones began to bankrupt. They stopped in time. A criminal case has been started. But we are systematically and calmly clean our city from gray schemes and dirty methods of work. Only in connection with poor -quality snow was opened 23 criminal cases. We will definitely bring all the reforms to the end. Do not intimidate us. Neither Telegram channels, no security structures. ”

The scandal reached the Kremlin. According to the sources of Novy-Europe, the pen was threatened with both participants in the conflict, and for some time the “war” between Prigozhin and Beglov again passed into the “cold” stage.

In August 2022, it became known about the arrest of some employees of Prigozhin’s mediation structures and held in the offices of the Federal News Agency and the Patriot media groups. And although the initiators were federal power structures, in St. Petersburg they again started talking about the “opening of hostilities” between the governor and Prigozhin. Now everyone expected a response from a businessman, and he inflicted him.

It is worth noting that at present the businessman’s positions look stronger than in January - thanks to the activities of private military companies belonging to Prigozhin and close to him businessmen. It is possible that Prigozhin thought that the time had come to put the final point in a protracted conflict with Beglov, who, according to the businessman, should end in the departure of the obstinate governor.

Prigozhin himself in an interview with the Publishing House "Petersburg Bulletin" said:

“I don’t have my candidates today. However, if the applicants for this post appear, then, of course, I will support the one who will be most effective for the city. My projects are not priority. The main thing is that a person develops St. Petersburg, then the business in this city will feel comfortable ... I do not strive for popularity. My task is to fulfill my duty to the Motherland, and today I do not plan to open any parties, and even more so - go into politics. ”

The apparatus of the governor did not give official comments on the statements of Prigozhin. But in an interview with RBC, the representative of the press service of the city administration said:

“We do not comment on the actions of commercial organizations aimed at creating conditions for unfair competition.”
