The Museum of the History of Yaroslavl presents such a hybrid of modern typical perception of his history by the Russians: ancient Rus', the Golden Horde, Troubles and the victory over it, the Romanov dynasty, the Great Russia, broken by the First World War, sympathy for the white (a powerful uprising in Yaroslavl, killed by red artillery along with historical masterpieces and red terror). Stalinist repressions, which, according to the guide, were quiet by the 1940s. "And life has become better, life has become more fun."
