The court found the organization guilty under the article on non-deletion of prohibited information (part 2 of article 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) because of two publications: "Assessment of Russia's invasion of Ukraine" and "For non-violent resistance of the civilian population of Ukraine during the invasion of Russia."

TASS notes that Roskomnadzor drew up a report on the offense against the organization - this happened after Wikimedia did not respond to the prosecutor's demand to remove the articles.

In April, the same court fined Wikimedia three million rubles for failing to remove publications, including about the course of the war in Ukraine, the victims in Bucha , and the destruction of a hospital and theater in Mariupol, as well as another two million rubles for an article about smoky and smokeless powder.

• On the morning of February 24, Russia launched a “special military operation in the Donbass.” After that , Roskomnadzor demanded that the media write about the war in Ukraine only with reference to official Russian sources. Also, journalists were forbidden to call the “Russian special operation” an attack, an invasion, or a declaration of war. Otherwise, the supervisory agency threatened with blocking and fines of up to five million rubles.
