The man said that his battalion was brought to the front line on the night of November 1-2.

“We were thrown into landings, they told us to dig in, we had three shovels per battalion, there was no provision at all. We dug in as best we could, and in the morning shelling began - artillery, “grads”, mortars, copters, we were simply shot. When it all started, the officers immediately ran away. In between shelling, we tried to dig in, but the copters immediately spotted us and simply shot us. Of the 570 people, as many as 29, 12 more were injured, the rest are all, ”said Agafonov.

The wife of another conscript confirmed that, according to her husband, hundreds of servicemen were killed as a result of this shelling. “The dead, of course, are more than half,” she said.

According to Agafonov, mobilized people from all over the country are being brought to the area to close gaps in the defense, while contractors and volunteers "sit on the third line."

Agafonov and his surviving colleagues then retreated to Svatovo, where they found mobilized from other defeated battalions.

“There is complete confusion and discord here. All survivors and new arrivals are grouped into new battalions and thrown on the front to close the line of defense, ”he said.

The wife of another surviving conscript from the same battalion, Lyudmila Chernykh, confirmed Agafonov's words.

“He ( husband - ed. ) called me in the morning from someone else's number and told me what happened, that they were left to dig the defense line, they were covered by mortar fire and they somehow got from Krasnodon to Svatovo, where they are now hiding. They are now afraid to go somewhere, they are even afraid to go out to checkpoints. The management abandoned them and they don’t know what to do, they just ask for help, ”the woman said.

At the end of October, it was reported that the 2nd Guards Tamanskaya motorized rifle division was left on the front line without command and almost without weapons. "Mediazona" talked to the surviving servicemen from it. They also said that companies of those mobilized without command and proper weapons are being thrown to the front line in the Svatovo region.
