On the night of November 4-5, a fire began in the Kostroma club "Polygon". According to investigators , the reason was the use of a "pyrotechnic agent." The other guests of the club later talked about their salvation in social networks, who at the time of the start of the fire were next to open emergency exits and managed to quickly evacuate.

Bodies in black bags

12 hours after the start of the fire, the building of the night club continued to smolder. There was smoke in places. The 7x7 correspondent watched the firefighters shed burnt structures from hydrants.

The building was burned to the ground. The roof collapsed almost entirely, all the glass were knocked out in the rooms.

Near one of the exits on the ground in black bags lay the bodies of several people who died in a fire.

The traffic police blocked the traffic on Nikitskaya Street, on which the landfill stands. Only employees of the Investigative Committee, Police, Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Emergencies could go to the scene. Deputy Minister for Emergency Situations came to the "training ground" Ilya Denisov.

Most of the club visitors who managed to evacuate left the emergency site at about 11:00 after giving explanations. Someone got home on their own, by taxi and public transport. Several dozen people left by buses that drove the authorities to the club.

Suspect and fights before fire

According to the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Kostroma Region, the cause of the fire inside the club was pyrotechnics. Police officers detained a 23-year-old man who became a suspect in a criminal case of causing death by negligence to two or more persons (part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The maximum term for this article is four years of imprisonment.

According to unconfirmed information, the suspect several times shot at the ceiling of the institution from the hunting rocket launcher - a small device for the signaling.

Visitors to the Polygon say that there were supposedly fights in front of a fire in the club. So, Kostromichka Julia and her friend came to the institution to relax. She saw a few brawls.

Another visitor to the Polygon told Readovka that she was sitting at the entrance that the waiters used, and also allegedly watched fights:

The girl took the young man's hand, they ran out through the entrance of the waiters one of the first. Soon after, firefighters and doctors arrived at the club.

Three open outputs out of seven

When people tried to run away from the sunbathing club, they found that only three exits out of seven were open. The main entrance, equipped with a cartridge-carousel, could produce only one person at a time. One door, according to eyewitnesses, broke the guest of the institution Andrei Kuzmin.

- Upon arrival of the first unit, rescuers evacuated 250 people directly near the club and 16 people from a nearby house, because there was a strong smoke. Of those people who were evacuated, four people turned to medical institutions for help, ”said Dmitry Korneev, head of the Kostroma department of the Ministry of Emergencies,“ 7x7 ”.

Because of the fire, the roof of the building collapsed, and those who did not manage to evacuate remained inside. The regional Ministry of Emergencies confirmed the death of 13 people. Rescuers finished disassembling the rubble at 17:00 on November 5.

The building of the complex is owned by the deputy of the Kostroma Regional Duma from the United Russia party I. I. I. I. Mirzoev.
