Roskomnadzor will spend 1.2 billion rubles on the Internet traffic control system

Roskomnadzor is ready to spend 1.2 billion rubles in two years to create and ensure the work of the new Internet traffic monitoring system. This will allow you to control the data transfer between all operators and communication providers and track those who do not comply with the requirements of the department. The development of the new system will be done by the Center for Monitoring and Management of the Communications Network, created under the Law "On Sovereign Runet". In total, the work of Roskomnadzor in 2023–2024. 37.7 billion rubles are allocated from the budget, and 73 billion rubles until 2025.

An independent IT specialist Philip Kulin believes that the new system will be used to disable unregistered networks. He explained to the publication that now all the switching inside the country is taking place only with those who have passed the information in the RKN and are connected to the center of monitoring and management of the network. The rest is facing a lock.

According to Kulin, operators and providers not connected to TSPU - a deep filtering system of traffic will be forced to stop working, because they will not be able to exchange data or transfer them from their subscribers to subscribers of other operators and providers. However, 1.2 billion rubles are too much to create such a system, Kulin believes.

The RKN does not specify exactly how the traffic route system will work, however, it should become a “digital double” of data transmission channels, exchange points and flows to control the entry points and data output.
