Tomsk: the student was expelled for participating in a rally against mobilization

From the Tomsk Polytechnic University, a first -year student named Daniil for participation in a rally against war and mobilization was expelled. It is reported by the publication "Like this."

Daniel came to Tomsk from the Kemerovo region and Polytechnic to the direction "Ecology and nature management", where he managed to study for two months.

On September 21, the student was on actions against mobilization, where he was detained and issued a protocol under the article on the "discredit" of the Russian army. The court fined it for 45 thousand rubles.

Six days later, Daniel was called to a meeting with the vice -rector of TPU for youth policy and educational work. At the end of the meeting, the student was taken by an explanatory and released, but in early November, representatives of the university called the university commission, whose members unanimously voted for deductions to Daniel for participating in the rally. The student himself was not invited to the commission.

"One of the men said that I express an active civic position in social networks and opposed the government. The other said that the crime is very serious, so it needs a corresponding punishment," says Daniil. According to him, the commission also studied his page on VKontakte with anti -war posts.

The student plans to challenge the deduction in court. In the TPU itself, the reason for the deduction of Daniel called the "violation of the rules of the internal routine" of the university.

"Disciplinary measures can be applied to students in cases of bringing to criminal, administrative liability in the manner prescribed by the legislation of the Russian Federation. The penalty may be in the form of comments, reprimands, expulsions from the university," the university noted.

Such issues are regulated by a government decree on an educational institution of higher education, which states that the university itself can establish the rules of deductions from the university. In the case of TPU, the university himself established the rules by which students can be expelled for the "anti -Russian position".

This is not the first deduction from TPU for the opposition position. In April, local journalists reported that one of the students of TPU was kicked out of the university for "incitement to illegal actions." ​
