On November 7, the Lefortovsky District Court of Moscow arrested a man with the surname and initials G.K. Verdiyan in a case of treason. Apparently, this is a 21-year-old student from Astrakhan, Gleb Verdiyan, writes BBC Russian Service.
On October 28, another Moscow district court, Solntsevsky, considered an administrative case of petty hooliganism against a man with the surname Verdiyan and arrested him for 10 days. This term expired on November 7, and on the same day Verdiyan was taken into custody by the Lefortovo Court in a criminal case of treason. Probably, he was detained at the exit from the detention center.
The press services of the Lefortovsky and Solntsevsky courts confirmed that Gleb Karenovich Verdiyan is the defendant in both cases. The BBC found a person on social networks with the same last name, first name and patronymic, born in 2001. The Solntsevsky court named the same date of birth. Thus, Verdiyan became the youngest of the publicly known defendants in treason cases, writes the BBC.
Judging by the information that the publication was able to find in the public domain, Gleb Verdiyan was born in Astrakhan and is a second-year student at the Astrakhan State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (AGASU) at the Department of Expertise and Real Estate Management.
Verdiyan's classmates said they did not know about his arrest. At the same time, one of the students said that Verdiyan's phone was not available, and the second one said that the young man appeared in pairs at the university "toward the end" of October. Verdiyan visited his page on VKontakte for the last time on October 28, the day he was arrested for 10 days by the Solntsevsky Court.
Gleb's mother refused to comment on her son's arrest. Verdiyan's father, judging by social networks, lives in the town of Yasinovataya near Donetsk. The BBC sent him a question about his son, but he has not responded yet.
In April, in a VKontakte group about weapons, Verdiyan wrote a comment under one of the videos about the special operation: “A question for the owners of a trauma (pistol) - does it make sense to buy and issue a license?” Nobody answered him.
