"During the war, information is more important than ethics." How do journalists investigate war crimes? Interview of the editor -in -chief of the “Important Stories” of Roman Anin

Before the start of the war in Ukraine, the main subject for investigations of Russian journalists was corruption. Publications about the condition, business, yachts, real estate of the Russian elite (including the famous film “Palace for Putin” ) were gaining millions of views. Such materials are coming out now - to take at least the publication of Medusa or the text of “important stories” about the daughters of the president ( “important stories” are declared “ino -agent” in Russia and are included in the register of “undesirable” organizations ).

But after February 24, investigations of war crimes came to the fore. One of the most powerful materials - about the Russian military who committed looting and killing civilians in the Kiev region - released "important stories".

In this issue of Dedlin, we speak with the editor -in -chief of the publication by Roman Anin ( declared a “foreigner” ). For many years he was engaged in investigations in the Novaya Gazeta, wrote about the yacht related to Igor Sechin, about the offshores of the cellist and friend of Putin Sergei Roldugin, as part of OCCRP journalists, he worked on the sensational Panama Archive .
