In the south of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated 41 settlements. We are talking about Mykolaiv and Kherson regions. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“Today there is good news from the south. The number of Ukrainian flags that are returning to their rightful place as part of the ongoing defensive operation is already dozens. 41 settlements have been liberated,” the President of Ukraine stressed in his video message.
On November 9, the commander of the Russian grouping of troops in Ukraine, Surovikin, reported that the Russian military would leave Kherson. And today, pro-Russian telegram channels reported that on Friday night, the Antonovsky bridge across the Dnieper and the bridge of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station were blown up.
On Friday afternoon, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the transfer of Russian troops to the left bank of the Dnieper was completed at 5 am Moscow time.
“Not a single piece of military equipment and weapons was left on the right bank, all Russian servicemen crossed over to the left bank of the Dnieper. There was no loss of personnel, weapons, military equipment and materiel of the Russian group,” the Russian military department said in a statement.
At the same time, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov believes that Russia will need at least a week to withdraw its units. According to him, the Russian group of troops in the Kherson region has about 40,000 soldiers. Reznikov also claims that a significant part of them are located in Kherson and around it on the right bank.
“It is difficult to withdraw these troops from Kherson in a couple of days. A week at least,” said Reznikov.
Experts from the Institute for the Study of War share the same opinion. According to their calculations, the Russian retreat will take some more time, and fighting will continue throughout the Kherson region.
The Ukrainian operational command "South" reported that the Russian army was being transported by boats and ships across the Dnieper. According to them, the military is equipping defense lines on the left bank of the Dnieper and shelling Ukrainian positions on the right.
