The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution on reparations to Ukraine from Russia

The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution calling for Russia to be held financially responsible for the invasion of Ukraine.

The document, in particular, provides for the creation of a register for registering the damage caused and the development of a mechanism for paying reparations.

The resolution was supported by 93 countries (including the US and all EU countries), 13 voted against (including Russia and China), another 74 (including Brazil, India, Serbia, Kazakhstan) abstained.

• This is the fifth resolution of the UN General Assembly condemning Russian aggression, adopted after the start of the war in Ukraine. These resolutions, unlike the decisions of the UN Security Council, are not binding.
