The arbitration court arrested the property of the Twitch company worth 3 billion rubles due to the blocking of the account of the son of the owner of the Tsargrad channel.

The Moscow Arbitration Court arrested the property of Amazon and the Twitch streaming service owned by it for 3 billion rubles as an interim measure in the claim of Kirill Malofeev, the son of the owner of the Tsargrad TV channel, Konstantin Malofeev. The ruling was published on the court's website.

Malofeev Jr. streamed on the Twitch platform under the nickname Likkrit . His account was blocked in April 2022 due to US sanctions .

In a commentary for Forbes, Kirill Malofeev called the court’s decision “a good example” of protecting the interests of e-sportsmen and “all Russian athletes in general.”

“ Twitch and Amazon feel above Russian legislation, above a sovereign state. They arbitrarily violate contractual obligations. In essence, such actions are censorship and discriminate against Russian e-sportsmen and their audience,” he noted.

The case came to the Moscow Arbitration Court from the Perovsky District Court of Moscow, where Malofeev appealed in early October. Then he demanded to restore his account and the ability to monetize it.

In July, the Moscow Arbitration Court considered a similar claim by an esports player, but the judge rejected it as not falling within the jurisdiction of the arbitration court.
