A picketer who spoke in support of politician Sergei Furgal was detained in Khabarovsk

In Khabarovsk, police detained Valery Skripalshchikov, who was holding a one-man picket in support of the arrested ex-governor of the Khabarovsk Territory Sergei Furgal. This was reported by Sibir.Realii.

The man was taken to OP No. 4 in Khabarovsk. A report was drawn up against him for violating the legislation on rallies (Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code, part not reported).

13:30 SOTAvision reports that Skripalshchikov was released from the police department with a report on violation of the established procedure for holding a public event (Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code). According to RusNews, the court will consider the materials of this case on November 18.

• Since the arrest of ex-governor of the Khabarovsk region Sergei Furgal in July 2020, rallies in his support have been held in Russian cities. Protesters believe that the persecution is due to the fact that Furgal won the gubernatorial elections against the candidate from United Russia, and also because the region showed one of the lowest voting results for amendments to the Constitution. Now Sergei Furgal is in custody .
