The creators of the largest pirate Internet library were arrested

In the Argentine city of Cordova, at the request of the United States, Russian citizens Anton Napolsky and Valery Ermakova were arrested. The investigation in New York accuses them of administering the world's largest pirate Internet library Z-Library.

According to court materials, the library was created in 2009, its catalog totaled about 12 million books. Millions of readers used the site. Its alleged creators are suspected of violation of copyright, fraud using electronic means of communication and laundering money.

33-year-old Napolsky and 27-year-old Ermakov were arrested in early November. The United States will seek them out. The Russian Embassy in Argentina reported to the TASS agency on Wednesday that the court in Cordov had not yet received an extradition request.

The Torrentsfreak publication notes that the online library was disabled on November 4, simultaneously with the detention of the suspects, but later partially resumed the work.
