The IAEA did not find any traces of the development of a “dirty bomb” in Ukraine. For the third time since the start of the war, the agency called on the Russian military to leave the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant

The resolution, adopted on November 17, states that experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have not found traces of the development of a "dirty bomb" in Ukraine.

“We welcome the Director General’s assessment that the Agency has not found any signs of undeclared nuclear activity “...” at three locations in Ukraine after obtaining additional access,” the document says.

The IAEA also called on Russia to immediately stop all hostilities at Ukraine's nuclear facilities, withdraw troops from the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and allow Ukrainian personnel to enter the plant.

The resolution was supported by 24 out of 35 countries, Russia and China voted against. Vietnam, India, Kenya, Namibia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and South Africa abstained from voting.

This is the third IAEA resolution after the start of the war in Ukraine, in which the agency calls on Russia to stop hostilities at Ukrainian nuclear facilities.
