The National Center for Defense Management of Russia (NTSUO RF) called a staged video message from servicemen from the Smolensk region, in which they complained about the lack of artillery support and communication with the command during the retreat to the left bank of the Dnieper.

The NCUO of the Russian Federation believes that the specified unit “was not exposed to fire,” and the video itself and other similar “false materials about the plight of military personnel” are distributed in “the purpose of discrediting the activities of the RF Armed Forces.”

The video message was published on November 15. In it, Russian soldiers from the Smolensk region say that they were transferred from place to place for several weeks to dig trenches. At the same time, they were armed only with Kalashnikov assault rifles, Mosin rifles and hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers. They also said that the command did not notify them that the right bank of the Dnieper, from where they were transferred, was occupied by the Ukrainian military. When they came under fire, according to the military, they had no artillery support, no communication with the command, and no opportunity to defend themselves.
