The Nevsky District Court of St. Petersburg changed the preventive measure for Pavel Iskandarov, who is accused of beating his common-law wife to death.
Iskandarov was released with restrictions: he cannot attend any mass events and make contact with participants in the process, except for his defenders.
In total, Iskandarov spent more than two years in a pre-trial detention center. A second examination has been scheduled for the case. It is not known when the results will be. Relatives of the deceased told Fontanka that the examination was being delayed, and their complaints had not yielded results.
In May 2020, Lidia Kukha, a resident of St. Petersburg, was beaten in her own apartment, after which she died in the hospital. Children who witnessed her death said that Kuhu was allegedly a frying pan.
