Petersburg did not hit the ten cities with the highest salaries. In the rating of average salaries from the RIA Novosti information agency, the city took the eleventh place.
What else found the authors of the rating. According to RIA Novosti analysts, about 16.9 % of Petersburgers receive more than 100 thousand rubles a month. In the ranking of the publication, the city bypassed the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug (49.6 %), the Yamalo-Henets Autonomous Okrug (43.8 %), the Magadan region (33.6 %), the Nenets Autonomous Okrug (33.4 %), Moscow (32.6 %) and other subjects.
The leaders of the rating were Siberian, Northern and Far Eastern regions. The authors of the study explain this by the fact that on their territory there are profitable industries in the extractive industry and fishing. At the same time, Moscow and St. Petersburg perform the function of financial centers, where headquarters of large Russian companies work.
The range of average salaries in St. Petersburg amounted to 36 to 81 thousand rubles a month, in Moscow - from 45 to 129 thousand rubles per month.
What else is known about salaries in St. Petersburg. Earlier, Smolny estimated the average salary of Petersburgers at 81,564 rubles, the publication of Business Petersburg reported with reference to the report of the apparatus of the vice-governor of St. Petersburg Valery Moskalenko.
At the same time, salaries in St. Petersburg grew by 11.2 % since the beginning of 2022, follows from the report of Moskalenko. However, these indicators do not take into account inflation, noted Elena Gorina, senior researcher at the Higher Social Policy Institute of Social Policy, in a conversation with the publication "Dog".
According to Gorina, if you take into account the growth of the consumer price index, then in reality the salaries of Petersburgers increased only by 2 %. In addition, experts suggested that on average, about 64 thousand rubles are offered to residents of St. Petersburg on vacancies sites. This is 16 % more than in other regions of Russia.
The authors of the study did not indicate specific data sources on the basis of which the rating was compiled.
Experts had in mind a median salary - an indicator in which abnormally high salaries do not affect general value.
