Mariinsky Theater removed the mention of the choreographer Ilya Living

The St. Petersburg choreographer Ilya Living, who left Russia, said that the Mariinsky Theater deleted it from the list of authors of the performances that he worked on.

We are talking about five ballet performances of the current Mariinsky Theater repertoire and two opera productions, in which he alive with his team put choreography from 2017 to 2021. Among the works are the ballets “Seasons”, “Pulchinella”, “Game of Cards”, “Under the Dome”, a Flashback, the operas “Snow Maiden” and “Night before Christmas”.

“Paper” also noted that a page with a living biography of the living has disappeared from the Mariinsky Theater website - an error of 404 is displayed instead (“The page is not found”).

When and in connection with which the mention of the living was removed, it is unknown. In the theater, they did not respond to the request “Paper” . According to the living, his name from the lists was deleted recently. At the same time, all performances continue to go on stage.

Ilya Living is a graduate of the Academy of Vaganova, who began in Mariinsky in 2008 as a dancer, and since 2013 staged performances as a choreographer. The media repeatedly called him one of the best young choreographers of St. Petersburg.
