The reason for the administrative case was the performance of two young people with makeup at a fashion show, which took place on October 18 in the Gray House boutique. One of the guys was wearing a white suit, the other a shiny gray one. Askerova said that their images were stage-like, and she invited women—mostly her friends and acquaintances—to view the collection.

According to SK SOS , one of the passers-by saw the show through the windows, which had no curtains, and began filming the performance. The security guard asked the man not to do this, but he began to threaten that he would “call 15–20 people.” He published photos and videos from the show on social networks.

Human rights activists note that Part 2 of Article 6.21 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, which the designer is charged with, provides for the dissemination of “propaganda of non-traditional values” in the media and the Internet, but it was a passer-by who published the photographs, not Askerov. SK SOS added that the designer and young people who participated in the show have received threats.

The case against Askerova will be considered by the magistrate of the Sovetsky District Court of Makhachkala on November 25.
