The meeting with the police, a meeting with the police. The worst crime of which he could be accused was a violation of public order at 6 a.m. weekend. Nevertheless, when detained, law enforcement officers have repeatedly applied physical strength to a man. And in the Elizabethan hospital in the same morning, Shushmintsev was in a state of clinical death, from which he no longer left. The deceased had a five -year -old daughter. The widowed mother could not tell her the truth and so explained the incident: "Dad left, and so far that there is no connection with him."
Vlad Shushmintsev was 7 years old when his father died. The boy grew up with his mother and sister and, being the only man in the family, from an early age felt like a defender, support. From childhood he loved sport and what he was not fond of: boxing, kickboxing, powerlifting, football. He was preparing to enter the Nakhimov Naval School, dreamed of a military career. However, because of the mother’s illness, this failed. But the guy willingly went to serve in the western face (Murmansk region), in the sea infantry. Two years after returning from the army, in September 2014, Vladislav met his future wife.

“We accidentally were visiting friends at the same moment,” recalls the widow Maria Shushmintseva. - Shortly before that I got into a very serious accident, almost died and, in addition to other injuries, lost the front tooth. It so coincided that Vladik, in boxing training, also then lost his front tooth. We met, laughed: “What about your tooth?”, “What do you have?” Then they talked all night: he is about my life concerns, I am about my own.
It was love at first sight. Vlad looked very beautifully and took care of me very touchingly. It was impossible to quarrel with him. He avoided any quarrels. He was very kind and attentive.
He always felt sorry for everyone. He always helped everyone: grandmothers, women with children, even drunks who are sitting by the store: they are bad, they shoot a trifle to hang out. Even helped them. Such was a man.
The sun, as I called him.
Two years later, they got married. In 2017, the daughter of Maryana was born. After the decree, Maria got a job as an accountant, Vlad worked as a wood malarus. According to his wife, he earned good money. Shushmintsevs dreamed of their own apartment to move and live separately from the parents of Mary. The young family did not build air castles, but tried to try plans for the future. In October, they were violated by partial mobilization. Vladislav brought the summons.
- The son did not count how many friends. Many of his friends and former colleagues have already gone, you yourself understand where, ”explains the mother of Vladislav, Julia Shushmintseva,“ and the son did everything as expected. Appeared on the agenda. I issued all the documents. He already had in his hands a tear -off coupon, where he was assigned the time of appearance to the military registration and enlistment office to send to the unit - at 10 a.m. on October 17.
The wife convinced her husband that he had the right to avoid partial mobilization due to the available chronic diseases.
“I told him: Vlad, you have a legal reason not to go, you just need to bring medical certificates to the military registration and enlistment office,” says Maria. - To which he answered: "I am a man." His character was male, and all the actions were male.
Shushminttsevs learned that from the uniform and equipment it was necessary Vladislav with them and bought everything. “Burds, and a sleeping bag, a bag, and unloading,” the widow lists, “all, have been prepared thoroughly, about 40 thousand rubles were spent on this business.

All things were left in the apartment of Vlad, since he was registered with her, and from there to the military registration and enlistment office he can get much closer.
On Sunday, October 16, Vlad was going to go to his mother, and in the morning of the 17th-from her to the training camp. On the eve of the evening of October 15, I decided to meet friends. As he said to his relatives, "to behave to the army." He returned at dawn.
“Somewhere at 6 a.m.,” continues Julia Shushmintseva, “I hear, Vlad shouts to me:“ Mom, mother! ” I think: "Lord, does I dream of this, or what?" She looked out of the balcony to the street. Vlad stands under the lantern and asks: "Mom, throw me the keys." I have to him: "The keys are in your pocket." And he seemed to have a pocket. He says: "Mom, there are no keys." I replied: "I will not open you, if you want - go home to my wife."
But Shushmintsev acted differently - he climbed into the visor visor, apparently, intending to penetrate his own apartment. At the same time, according to eyewitnesses, the young man shouted something loudly. Mother, as she assures, was frightened for her son: and because he stands on a visor, and because he is noisy.
“I thought: now someone will call the police,” says Julia Shushmintseva. - a neighbor woke up, who lives behind the wall. I consulted with her: “I’ll call myself, or what? Let them take it. Maybe the army will not go. ”
The police promptly arrived at the call. Mother saw how, when the patrol car approached, Vlad jumped off the visor and ran from the police. Those - followed. To what place they led Vlad, where and how he was stopped, the mother did not see. But after a couple of days, Julia Shushmintseva began to look for eyewitnesses to the events of early morning on October 16. I put an announcement throughout the area, and the witnesses were found. They brought the woman a video of the detention of Vladislav. Julia, after consulting with her daughter and daughter -in -law, decided to transfer her to the “team against torture” to St. Petersburg specialists (recognized in Russia by a foreign agent).
As the lawyers “teams against torture” established, law enforcement officers delayed Shushmintsev for an hour and a half. CCTV cameras recorded how the police push Vlad and lay several times to the ground. At some point, he falls for one of the cars parked in the courtyard, and the frames are no longer visible what is happening to him. After a few seconds, Vladislav rises, and again it can be distinguished on the video. When one of the employees approaches him, Shushminys repel him. Further, three police officers manage to tie a man on the asphalt, but soon he gets up again, he is again knocked down.
There are shots in the video on which law enforcement officers fasten Vlad to the fence handcuffs, strike him with arms and legs on the body and head.
- There is a witness who waited for the ambulance and watched my husband put on a stretcher and stuffed into the car. At that time, the husband has already lost consciousness, ”says Maria.
Only by the evening of October 16, Vladislav's relatives learned that he was taken to the Elizabethan hospital in a state of clinical death. The next day, October 17, he died in intensive care of the traumatic edema of the brain and subarachnoid traumatic hemorrhage.
“I'm not trying to put my son.” I suppose he was tipsy. I am in no hurry to blame anyone, but nevertheless, clinical death came with my son after the police detained him. I am sure that the police beat Vlad. They inflicted heavy blows to him. I am sure of this because I have a video from residents of neighboring houses.
At the end of October, Maria Shushmintseva filed an application with the Main Investigation Department of the IC of the Russian Federation for St. Petersburg on the fact of the death of her husband after the police detention. Investigators began the audit. Next week it should end.
“We do not know what decision will make the GSU of the IC of the Russian Federation in St. Petersburg,” comments Julia Fedotova, lawyer of the “team against torture”. - At the moment, much is unclear. There are no results of forensic examination. We still do not have the right to loudly declare whether the police are guilty or someone else, or maybe Vladislav hit himself. We have not excluded any option yet. There are many questions to the police and to doctors. Why did Vlad's detention last so long? Why was Shushmintsev not taken to the department at once, but continued to sort things out on the street? Why were you tied to a fence? Judging by the video, the use of police force at some points was disproportionate. Who eventually called an ambulance? Why did the ambulance reanimated the patient for a long time? Why didn’t I go to the hospital right away? It is not yet clear what was happening there. Our task is precisely to figure it out.
COMMENT
Vyacheslav Stepchenko, Head of the Department of Information and Public Relations of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region:- Periodically, during the detention of citizens, law enforcement officers have to apply physical force and special equipment. The legal assessment of the actions of the police in this case, including the legitimacy or unlawfulness, proportionality or disproportionate of their physical force during the detention, must give the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation. Such a check on this fact is now carried out. We will wait for its results. The regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs does not evaluate the actions of its employees.

On February 21, 2018, a similar tragedy occurred in the Nevsky district of St. Petersburg. The 34-year-old Rustam Klychev returned home drunk at about 18 hours and rustled in the entrance. To calm him down, his wife called the police. The operatives detained the man, blamed him with an administrative offense and took him to the department. The need for such a trip to law enforcement officers proved not without the help of power. In a police car, Klychev shot abrasions, bruises and wounds on his leg, according to him, he said, received during the detention, and immediately laid out the video on his page on the VKontakte social network. At 22.20 in the cell for the detainees, the resuscitation brigade of the ambulance stated the death of a man from suffocation. According to the police, Klychev committed suicide.
