Former governor of the Khabarovsk region Sergei Furgal went on a hunger strike to protest against the actions of the judge. It is reported by SOTAvision.

The ex-governor went on a hunger strike due to the fact that at a meeting on November 23, the judge stopped the stage of presenting evidence from the defense and announced the stage of additions. Furgal is accused of murdering two people by an organized group for mercenary purposes, as well as with the aim of hiding another crime (paragraphs “a, g, h, k” part 2 of article 105 of the Criminal Code), of attempted murder by an organized group in a generally dangerous way for mercenary purposes (clauses “a, f, g, h” of part 2 of article 105 with the application of part 3 of article 30 of the Criminal Code) and in group illegal acquisition and storage of weapons and ammunition (part 3 of article 222 of the Criminal Code). In October 2021, the Prosecutor General's Office approved the indictment in one of the cases against Sergei Furgal.
