The trial of Ilya Yashin began. He was extended for six months

The Meshchansky District Court of Moscow on Wednesday began to consider the criminal case against the opposition policy of Ilya Yashin. He is accused of spreading fakes about the Russian army. In unreliable information, the investigation considers the words of Yashin about the death of civilians of the Ukrainian city of Buch after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Yashin, the former head of the Council of Deputies of the Krasnoselsky District of Moscow, the associate of Boris Nemtsov and Alexei Navalny, was detained at the end of June in an administrative case, and after serving the arrest, he was again detained - already in the criminal. Since July, he has been in the Moscow pre -trial detention center "Butyrka".

About 30 people came to the court on Wednesday. During the hearings, the bailiffs kicked them out of the hall after the politician Julia Galyamina spoke with the defendant, Mediazona reports.

The court considered the investigation to extend the period of stay of Yashin in the pre -trial detention center. Protection asked to change the measure of restraint. The judge decided to leave him in a pre -trial detention center for six months - until May 2023.

Yashin himself insists on his innocence, which he once again stated in court. He also noted that he could leave Russia, to which the authorities, according to him, were hinted, but he decided to stay, because "he loves his country."

The reason for the criminal prosecution of Yashin was a stream in Youtube, in which Yashin spoke of murders in Bucha and, in particular, critically evaluated the arguments of the Russian side, which claimed that the Russian military was not involved in them. In the case of fakes, politics faces up to 10 years in prison. The longest term for this article in Russia at the moment has now received a former colleague of Yashin on the Krasnoselsky Council of Deputies Alexei Gorinov - 7 years of colony.
